Partial view of today’s cross spread

Welcome weekend warriors. I hope you’re having a great weekend, and I hope you’re not spending too much time thinking about the week ahead. If you are, I pulled out a few cards to help guide us through the coming week.

I’m using the Transient Light Tarot by Ari Wisner in today’s reading for the week ahead. So the images will look and feel very different than the images from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck you’re used to seeing in my readings.

I’m using a cross spread today as it offers more information than the three card spreads I used for my daily readings. So here we go.

The first card we pulled is the card that characterizes the week ahead and is at the heart of our cross. This card is the Nine of Coins.

The Nine of Coins in this deck is about counting your chickens after they’ve hatched. We are taking stock of what we’ve accomplished and enjoying what we’ve gained from our efforts. Nines are all about maturing, about coming to the end of a cycle. But it’s not the end yet. We still have some more work to do. But it’s a good time to check in with ourselves, see how we’ve done, and give ourselves that extra boost to see ourselves over the finish line.

The next card in our look at the week ahead signals the foundation of our week. This card is directly below the center card in the spread — the Ace of Wands.

This card shows us that the foundation for our week is all about that moment of inspiration right before we’re about to do something. The idea that gives way to the creation. We will do great things this week; this card gives us the push we need to make it happen. Wands are also about creativity and fire. And so the idea is a strong one. It’ll give us enough to keep going for the entire week.

Our next card, directly above the center card, tells us of the possibilities for the week ahead. This card is the Five of Wands. Wands, again, are about action and are connected to the element of fire. All the wands are on fire in this card. Fives are all about chaos and destruction. In this card, we see chaos and catastrophe. But it’s not inevitable. The chaos shown in this card can only occur this week if we allow it to happen. We need to be vigilant and stay on our toes here. If we can see it coming, we can prevent whatever disaster might be coming. Best to recognize the potential for it and to start thinking of things we can do about it.

After seeing what the week holds for us, we look at any obstacles we might face this week. This card sits to the left of the center card in our spread. Today we have the Keeper of Vessels. The Keeper of Vessels is like the Queen of cups. The Keeper is experienced when it comes to emotions. Balanced, they don’t let their emotions run wild. When this card shows up as an obstacle for the week ahead… it makes me think that we should check our hearts and see where we stand with our emotions. Are we ready to tackle the things we need to do this week? If not, our biggest obstacle could be our emotions.

Our last card in the spread today sits to the right of our center card. This card tells us about any other advice the cards may have for the coming week — the Nine of Wands Shows nine branches reaching into the sky. The branches have leaves on them, indicating that something is sprouting. Something creative is growing here. Perhaps it’ll be ready t harvest soon? But not yet. The sun is setting, and the stars are just starting to come out. We need to rest and get ready for tomorrow.

The Nine of Wands asks us to take all the ideas from today’s reading and sleep on it. We might need a little more time to digest the information from this reading fully. Sometimes it’s like that. From this reading, I feel a little drained myself.

Thanks for reading. If you enjoyed it or if it resonated with you, please leave me a comment and let me know. It means to world to me to hear from my readers. If it didn’t resonate with you, consider sharing this with someone who might need this message today. Thanks again for reading. Have a great week!
