Project Nostos
An interactive installation that encourages exchanging stories
Nostos is a theme used in Ancient Greek literature which includes an epic hero returning home.
Concept
The installation is meant to be for the alumni meet of IDC.
1. Write a memory from your time at IDC.
2. Post it.
3. The post box returns a memory written by someone else for you to read, enjoy and keep.
The Postbox and the Postcard have long been the medium of exchange for stories and anecdotes. With the advent of Social Media and Instant Messaging, the speed and quantity of what we share has drastically increased with a drop in the personal nature of story telling. This project is an attempt at facilitating bonding over stories, for alumni from batches separated in time but united in space.
Using the act of writing a memory from your time at IDC on a postcard, we hope to make you reflect on your time here and leave behind a story for someone to take away.
