On Dec. 13rd, TASchain Founder & CEO Yiqun Wu presented at the SJTU session of the 8BTC “GET INTO ELITE UNIVERSITY” campus meet-up, which was co-hosted by the School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, SJTU.

The meet-up was focused on “how blockchain changes the world” with all attending guests exploring the future to be shaped by blockchain.

Here’s the summary of Yiqun’s sharing at the session.

The blockchain technology is decentralized, and its nodes are scattered, open and equal. This ensures the data on any of the blocks will be simultaneous broadcasted to all the rest nodes for verification, and the verification result will be stored simultaneously on all nodes.

Compared with the current centralized mode of copyright confirmation, in the blockchain scenario, copyright confirmation will be subject to the joint supervision and protection of all nodes. Any modification and change to the copyright registration will have to be approved by all nodes of the network.

This means that in digital copyright protection on blockchain, which is tamper-proof and verifiable, the cost of copyright infringement will be very high. And in order to achieve the promised verifiability, “true random number” is usually adopted.

Through these features, blockchain technology can solve the trust issue between strangers. In face of the unfairness and non-transparency of current digital copyright systems, blockchain can make the ownership and changes to the copyright of a specific work more accessible to the public, especially the musicians.

Moreover, the low cost of copyright confirmation on blockchain can dramatically cut the cost of manpower, material resources and operations. And since the broadcast is done in a high efficiency, the procedures in copyright confirmation can be a step further simplified.
