“Daddy?”

“Yes, Jilly?”

“I was ‘It’ when we played ‘hide-and-seek’ at school today.”

“Oh, dear.”

“One time, when everyone ran off, I accidentally opened my left eye and saw where Robert was going to hide.”

“I guess that’s okay, honey.”

“But Daddy, is that cheating?”

“Maybe. A little bit. It might depend.”

“Why?”

“I think because it kind of changes the game if you’re allowed to peek.”

“Well, when I went looking for him, I covered my left eye, but my right eye still knew where he was.”
