The submission process of retained and released players for all 10 franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead pertaining to the next season was completed on Tuesday (November 15). With that, the suspense over Ravindra Jadeja’s future with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also ended as the four-time champions announced Jaddu’s name in the list of retained players.

Notably, Jadeja’s future with the Yellow Army was the biggest talking point ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction. Many media reports had claimed that CSK might part ways with the left-arm all-rounder, but every speculation was put to the rest by the Super Kings after they named Jadeja in the retained list. Following the update, Jadeja took to his official Twitter handle and shared a picture with MS Dhoni with a caption: “Everything is fine #restart.”

Jadeja has had a remarkable career in the league with a high-paying cash flow where Jadeja has played in 210 games and scored more than 2500 runs with an average of 127.65 and has scored two half-centuries. His greatest contribution is in the bowling area with more than 132 wickets with a 5-wicket haul.

In the meantime CSK Super Kings, who finished ninth in the IPL in 2022 they didn’t make major modifications regarding the release of players except for Dwayne Bravo who is the most famous name they let go. But, CSK was able to release Bravo earlier in the year but then purchased Bravo back at auction. It shouldn’t be an unsurprising move, however it is a strategic one to use his services for the following season.

Player released Dwayne Bravo Adam Milne, Chris Jordan, N Jagadeesan, C Hari Nishaanth, K Bhagat Varma, KM Asif Robin Uthappa (retired)

Players retained: MS Dhoni (capt), Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Subhranshu Senapati, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwaine Pretorius, Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Chowdhary, Matheesha Pathirana, Simarjeet Singh, Deepak Chahar, Prashant Solanki, Maheesh Theekshana
