Events

While a lot has happened during September, none of it was bigger than our journey at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2021. Chosen from thousands of applicants to present at the number one startup launch competition in the world, we were the FIRST blockchain company to have ever been selected to participate.

That’s not all. We were selected as one of the top 5 startup finalists getting the opportunity to pitch Tatum in front of some of the best investors and execs in Silicon Valley. It was one of our biggest and most memorable moments to date, proudly representing the blockchain community on a global scale, and spreading the word about what we do here at Tatum.

The TechCrunch event was followed by being selected to present our platform at MasterCard’s #CEEFintechDay where 13 fintech companies from 8 different countries pitch their company for an opportunity to win a position in Matercard’s Start Path, a global startup engagement program that helps later stage startups maximize their opportunity for success.

Partnerships

We were happy to announce our partnership with NFT.storage to offer FREE IPFS storage for NFTs. With a native integration to Tatum, this partnership enables you to store your images, videos, audio files, and other NFT metadata, for free. What’s important to note is that files are impenetrable to tampering and censorship, meaning your metadata will remain intact in the long-run.

We also became a knowledge partner of the Blockchain ADDS (Architecture, Design, Development, and Security) course. Our very own CTO & Co-Founder Samuel Sramko will be hosting an exclusive session on Tatum for all ADDS students.

New blockchains

This one is a bit unique even for Tatum’s standards as we’re the ones that usually integrate blockchains into our platform. With Dragonchain, we were able to secure a special two-way partnership that sees Tatum integrated into their innovative hybrid blockchain ecosystem. This move changes the paradigm of our partnership model and opens the doors for more collaborations of the same nature.

By integrating Tatum into their system, Dragonchain enables developers, enterprises and DevOps teams to cut the costs of running nodes for other blockchains, while making it easier to capitalize on the utility of specific blockchains.

September also saw the addition of the highly scalable and rapidly growing Elrond blockchain to Tatum.

Building apps on Elrond is now all that much quicker and easier with Tatum’s SDK, API, and infrastructure. You can generate wallets, addresses, private keys, transfer tokens, or build full-fledged dApps. Everything you need can be found in the Elrond API documentation.

Interviews

Talking to interesting people in order to enrich our knowledge bank and spread the word about new, exciting blockchain projects is one of the perks of the job at Tatum. This month, our person of interest was Bartosz Lipnicki, co-founder and managing partner of the VC investment fund Alfabeat.

Our chat covered everything from investing in tech startups, what to consider both from the perspective of a founder and an investor, the importance of networking, to finding the next unicorn, and much more!

Tutorials & Workshops

Our tutorials are always geared towards simplifying life for developers, showcasing how to implement and use different functionalities on the Tatum platform. In one of our latest editions, you can “Learn how to implement peer-to-peer NFT auction” functionality in minutes in our latest video tutorial! The video breaks down how you can enable your marketplace’s users to create their own auctions and bid in other auctions by using a few API calls.

As an official partner of the Harmony Hackathon we also created a workshop on “How to Develop an App on Tatum on Harmony.”

New developer resources

For all of you who are just finding out about Tatum, we’ve put together a guide on “How to get started with blockchain development using Tatum.”

Read the blog or watch the video to learn how to generate wallets, addresses, private keys, deploy NFT smart contracts, work with metadata, mint NFTs, and get started on your blockchain development journey.

Don’t forget that you can always check out our documentation and API documentation to find out more information, and if you have any questions, please drop us a line on the Tatum Discord or Tatum subreddit.
