Feyrian of France

If you’ve had a chance to see TAUcoin’s massively engaged community on Telegram and Discord, then you certainly know who Feyrian is. One of the first miners ever (awarded the Ocean’s Eleven miner certificate over a month ago) and a prominent member in the Discord community, Feyrian’s contributions to the TAUcoin project can be considered essential to the success of TAU. We had a chance to talk with Feyrian and learn more about why he loves TAU so much.

1) What is your professional background? What were your previous jobs/roles?

I’m a web developer since 1999, yeah i’m old :), and a freelancer for ten years now. I’m kind of a full stack developer but more specialised in front end, responsive stuff. I’m an advocate of the open source spirit.

2) What is your contribution to TAU? Explain what you added and why its important.

My first contribution was being a miner: I compiled the wallet, ran it on a VPS and started harvesting since block #7267, it makes me a proud member of the ocean’s eleven, the third one :) And I started to help sometimes on Discord, answering questions about mining or PoT consensus. Then I’ve translated the Bitcointalk ANN in French to help spreading the word about Tau. And now I’ve set up a block explorer which will be online soon. Why it is important? well because it helps the project to validate the technology, it helps to make people know about Tau. It shows it’s an open project and you can contribute if you want to. No need to be a blockchain guru, there’s a lot of way to participate. And above all, it’s important because it’s fun to me :)

3) What interests you most about crypto/blockchain?

The Satoshi Nakamoto’s initial vision, his manifesto. And the technical challenges it brings. I’m a tech curious.

4) Why are you excited about TAU? What attracted you to the project?

The PoT consensus ofcourse. A new paradigm, a new way. And iMorpheus’ vision and willingness to bring to masses an effective, usable every day for everything, crypto currency to free them of centralized bank system, inflation and governments unlawful/manipulated regulation. It follows Satoshi Nakamoto’s initial vision. iMorpheus’ way of managing this project is coherent to this. Tau is not an other pump and dump shitty clone of bitcoin with no other goals than making quick and dirty money. Fun fact: I used to work on a coworking space called Tau 😃 It’s a non-profit, self managed coworking space, good spirit. I’ll ask them if I could pay with Tau coin next time :)

5) What do you think TAU needs to achieve for success?

There’s two kind of challenges, technical and economical. Technically, there’s the fully decentralised mobile mining, and it means also reducing the weight of the blockchain. The auto adjustable block timing too. Economically, there’s the same challenge as for any cryptocurrency since Bitcoin: being really used as a fiat alternative for every kind of payment. Having real use cases and not only for dematerialised stuff.

6) What would you like to work on next for TAU?

Well… we’ll see, but improving the explorer to reflect Tau’s specific functionalities. And all the club stuff, having a diagram representation of all the club wiring would be nice. iMorpheus talked once about having a kind of yelp service for rating clubs, I like this idea, it should be implemented directly on the wallet and of course totally decentralised :) And participate to other projects developed, proposed by the community, in the open source spirit.

7) If you could change anything with TAU, what would it be?

The size of the blockchain, my VPS storage is almost full :)

8) What is your favorite blockchain that was created and why? Do you use it yourself?

The first one, Bitcoin, it showed the way. But unfortunately it failed to answer it’s promises; we can’t use it to pay our coffee. But, still, it started a new era.

9) Why do you think the TAU community is so strong?

There is a fast adoption for such a new project. That’s nice, by example there’s a lot of local telegram groups being created and many of them already have a lot of users. That’s important, but many users have to remind that the project is in it’s early stage. No need to rush, let the technology be effective first. The rest will come by itself.

10) What are you excited about in TAU’s roadmap?

Mobile Mining Club Network, Startup Bounty, etc… The mobile mining will be a huge milestone, for sure. The start of the main-net too, of course. But for now, i’m waiting for the clubs ability to managed their reward repartition between the leader and the members.
