Dear community, here come Taxa’s monthly updates on ecosystem building, technology development, and community resources for October 2019.

Upcoming Events:

ETHWaterloo, Nov 8–10, Waterloo, Canada

We are proud to return to ETHWaterloo with other leading projects in crypto space. Judges of ETHWaterloo include Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum, Min Teo of ConsenSys, Jeff Coleman of L4, and other pioneers in blockchain industry.

During this flagship event of ETHGlobal, Taxa will work closely with over 500+ hackers from all over the world and award $1000 to the most compelling team which uses Taxa’s privacy-preserving, computationally-powerful, highly-developable, blockchain agnostic smart contract engine to ship a ready-to-go dApp.

Past Events:

Devcon 5, Oct 8 — Oct 11, ATC Hall, Suminoe Ward, Osaka, Japan

Team Taxa joined this annual developer conference hosted by Ethereum Foundation, and explored topics ranging from the deeply technical to the profoundly human. We were pleased to share Taxa’s vision and offerings with builders of all kinds: developers, designers, researchers, client implementers, test engineers, infrastructure operators, community organizers, social economists, and artists, and to develop new business relationships in technology solutions, industrial applications, and ecosystem.

SF Blockchain Career Fair, Oct 30, University of California, Berkeley

Team Taxa attended the largest blockchain talent event at UC Berkeley with major influential organizations in crypto, and connected with the bright minds who are seeking a career in blockchain.

We have openings in engineering, marketing, and operation.

SF Blockchain Week, Oct 28 — Nov 3, San Francisco

Our co-founder, TF Guo, joined “The future abstractions of crypto” panel with Austin Griffin from ConsenSys, Dan Robbinson from Paradigm, Michael Dunworth from Send, and Akash Khosla from Anchorage.

During the panel, TF shared his opinion on blockchain technology: “Smart contract is not always good as a ‘world computer’. Its main job is storing the persistent, immutable states, not performing computation. There are also other aspects that are costly to implement on layer-1 blockchains, such as privacy — blockchain is designed for transparency, not confidentiality. Oracle — blockchain protocol requires the consistency of status. We believe the future dApps will be built on a layered infrastructure, instead of implementing everything on a blockchain.”

In regards of industrial adoption, TF said that Blockchain is a technology driven industry. In order to get more public adoptions and real world use cases, we need to have a more product driven mindset, to make the technology easier to integrate and to use.

Besides the panel, we got to make new friends in the ecosystem.

Technology:

Taxa Core:

  • Upgraded and optimized the attestation protocol implementation.

Smart Contract Engine:

  • Optimized the layer-1 transaction authentication implementation;
  • Fixed several bugs that can cause smart contract engine crash.

Developer Documentation & SDK:

  • Rewrote part of the developer documentation according to user feedback (Now the documentation is more focused on the development procedure with SDK while details about the Taxa protocol are placed in independent sections);
  • Developed and tested the integrated SDK solution with attestation, key management, and security.
