Dear community, here come Taxa’s monthly updates on ecosystem building, technology development, and community resources for September 2019.

Ecosystem:

Taxa Network and Cocos-BCX Fuel Blockchain Game Development

Taxa announced to collaborate with Cocos-BCX, a public blockchain platform aiming to create a complete run-time environment for games with multi-game system compatibility, providing game developers a user-friendly platform for blockchain game development. The collaboration will focus on co-create seamless experience of blockchain game development and fuel new genres of blockchain games.

By introducing the highly developable, computationally powerful trustless third party powered by Taxa’s cutting edge trusted execution technologies, game developers on Cocos-BCX can now create fun games of incomplete asymmetric information such as card games and eSports on blockchain. By integrating Taxa onto the Cocos-BCX platform, Cocos-BCX shall strengthen its developer-first initiative with TEE-enabled developer tool kits.

Upcoming Events:

Building The New Web, Oct 6, Osaka Honmachi, Osaka, Japan

Co-founder TF Guo will give a tech talk to 200+ Japanese technical community members including IT & blockchain developers, distributed systems engineers, cryptographers, security experts, protocol designers, peer to peer developers and tech-savvy enthusiasts.

Devcon 5, Oct 8 — Oct 11, ATC Hall, Suminoe Ward, Osaka, Japan

Team Taxa will join this annual dev con hosted by Ethereum Foundation to explore topics ranging from the deeply technical to the profoundly human, and meet builders of all kinds: developers, designers, researchers, client implementers, test engineers, infrastructure operators, community organizers, social economists and artists.

SF Blockchain Week, Oct 28 — Nov 3, San Francisco & Berkeley

Co-founder Esther Hu will join a panel at SF Blockchain Week to share Taxa’s vision, insights and experience with Web 3 and Layer 2. Meanwhile Taxa will be at the Blockchain Career Fair of SF Blockchain Week.

ETHWaterloo, Nov 8–10, Waterloo, Canada

We are proud to return to another ETHGlobal hackathon. Looking forward to working with over 500 hackers to ship dApps built with Taxa.

Past Events:

ETHBoston, Sep 6–8, Harvard University Northwest Labs

On Sep 6–8 at Harvard University, Team Taxa joined ETHBoston, the first ETHGlobal hackthon in the Boston area, with other leading Web 3 protocols.

Taxa Co-founder TF Guo spoke at the opening ceremony, and gave a tech talk, Taxa Network: Build Web 3 Applications in a layered Blockchain Architecture.

Team Taxa had the opportunity to meet with over 400 hackers from all over the world, and very much enjoyed exploring exciting use cases with you all.

Congratulations to the four teams on winning the Taxa API prize for their ready-to-go dApps built with Taxa’s privacy-preserving, computationally-powerful, highly-developable, blockchain agnostic smart contract engine.

  1. ETHTorrent used Taxa to match BT source providers and takers in a decentralized, secure, and privacy-preserving way;
  2. SweepStake used Taxa to allow money stake money on a multi-player game of prisoner’s dilemma;
  3. Fancy Lobster Auction used Taxa’s trusted execution technology to develop a decentralized auction house;
  4. BankShare used Taxa to set up lending offers of a private wealth storage platform without disclosing the depth or number of the offers.

Technology:

Taxa Core:

  • Added native REST API support on Taxa nodes — now the dApps can communicate with smart contracts with a light-weight implementation;
  • Implemented simple deployment solutions for Taxa nodes;
  • Optimized the key management and configuration procedure on Taxa nodes.

Smart Contract Engine:

  • Added native support for transaction authentication token for Layer-1 communications;
  • Kicked off the development of local test environment for smart contracts;
  • Improved the error handling and debugging of the smart contract engine.

Taxa SDK & Documentations:

  • Improved development procedure and experience based on developer feedback.
