Tampa Bay-area activists have already begun planning a local response in the event President Donald Trump fires Special Counsel Robert Mueller. To date, over 2000 people have signed up to attend Nobody is Above the Law protests in the area, to be held within 24 hours of a Mueller firing.

Protests are planned at Pioneer Park in Dunedin, the Bilirakis Building in Palm Harbor, Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa , Demens Landing in St. Petersburg, US 19 and Ridge Road in New Port Richey and the Historic Pasco County Courthouse in Dade City. In addition, nearly 1000 activists have signed up for a protest in Sarasota at the Unconditional Surrender Statue.

The speculation of a Mueller firing has been gaining traction due to a series of weekend tweets by Trump attacking Mueller and the integrity of his investigation. Trump’s attacks continued on Monday.

The White House has denied that a Mueller firing is imminent. White House attorney Ty Cobb issued a statement to the White House press pool on Sunday (March 18) saying: “In response to media speculation and related questions being posed to the Administration, the White House yet again confirms that the President is not considering or discussing the firing of the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller.”

According to the Nobody is Above the Law website, protests are scheduled to happen on the following schedule should Mueller be fired or impeded.

  • If actions are triggered BEFORE 2 p.m. local time → events will begin @ 5 p.m. local time.
  • If actions are triggered AFTER 2 p.m. local time → events will begin @ noon local time the following day.
  • This is the general plan — please confirm details on your event page, as individual hosts may tailor their events to their local plan.

Materials including email templates and planning guides are also available to activists here.
