Since we started revealing our business idea to family, friends, influencers and experts, we have been facing opened wide eyes and mouths saying “wow!”, on the edge between disbelieving and admiring. Stopping fake reviews in tourism is a major objective indeed, and it is definitely a global challenge. We need to calm everyone down as far as the team mental condition is concerned. Our idea is not a newborn idea, in fact it matured across the years through glimpses, development, testing and debates that led us to apply for a patent for the certification of online reviews.

It was the 3rd of June….

Today we would like to start narrating our adventure, our fight against fake reviews. Everything started in 2016, precisely June 3rd, with an article appeared on the online magazine #chefuturo — coordinated by Riccardo Luna at that time — that we started our research path that led us to TBOXCHAIN, the blockchain based protocol to collect and distribute online reviews.

In one of the key paragraphs, michele.tbox, TBOXCHAIN founder, wrote the following: “Pierre Lévy states: “ the intelligence is distributed wherever humankind exists, everywhere, and can be enhanced through new techniques, especially by creating synergies among them. Today, if two people that are far from each other know two complementary pieces of information, by means of new technologies they can really communicate, exchange their knowledge, cooperate. In wider terms, this is the essence of collective intelligence”.

What I would like to say is that, if we really want to experiment in order to conceive new sustainable business alternatives, we need to confirm this aptitude and launch — for the first time in Italy — a new model of Governance for the Culture Heritage and Tourism sector. Such new model should be based on the definition of strategic and operational policies that build on the collective intelligence and will result — I am pretty sure about that — in a trenchant contribution to the success of the planned and implemented activities.

Tools like the netnographic analyses, the application of non-intrusive statistical methods, the collection and samples of territorial data (natural and human), revaluating the decision-making processes by enlarging the baseline for the data collection with a focus on the common good, the necessary contamination with the local interests, the fine-tuning with the European policies in the field of bottom-up projects and co-creation, all of these are just some dynamics that might help us make better managerial choices.

Our value proposition is the following: adopting the Blockchain, the perfect machine, the resistant algorithm that creates and ensures trust among the members of a community, in the management of Culture Heritage and Tourism. We can try this out by generating and managing the trust within an enlarged community following a new model. Should this model succeed, it could represent the first step in rethinking the whole management of Italian Culture Heritage. As like as manufacturing, where they are re-starting from “Industry 4.0”, it is also necessary to think about research, development, fast actions to be fed into a great and ambitious programme for culture heritage: “Culture 4.0”.

The ideas were quite clear and the meeting with FAUSTO VILLANI and his team, and Vito Verrastro with his unshakable optimism, made everything clearer. So in February 2018, nearly 2 years after an undefined number of meetings, presentations, testing, TBOXCHAIN SRL was born as innovative start-up, registered at the Potenza Chamber of Commerce.

Today we would like to start from ourselves, or even better, from our project, whose sole objective is: “No more fake reviews!”. Please, follow us and we’ll explain you how we conceived our idea and how we are about to launch the first system to collect and distribute online reviews certified through a blockchain based protocol.
