Maryland’s first intercollegiate entrepreneurship conference on Nov.9th, 5–8pm

Baltimore is home to a number of world-class academic institutions, full of the best and brightest students Maryland has to offer. In addition to leading the way in research and education, these universities are also hubs for entrepreneurship and innovation, especially at the student level.

Student entrepreneurs are the next generation of leaders, change-makers, and visionaries, and their amazing innovations deserve to be celebrated. For that reason, we are pleased to announce Innov8MD, Maryland’s first intercollegiate entrepreneurship conference showcasing young entrepreneurs from 8 local universities: Johns Hopkins, Towson, MICA, UMD, UMB, UMBC, UB, and Morgan State.

8 schools, 40 companies, 250 innovators

Each university in Baltimore has unique strengths, and you see these reflected in the types of companies that their students are building. From life-saving medical devices at JHU to next-generation EdTech software at Towson, students are bringing new ideas to market everyday, going above and beyond their academic endeavors.

Innov8MD will showcase 40 student-led companies— five from each university — in a one-night celebration of student entrepreneurship across the state of Maryland. In addition to meeting these ventures, attendees get the chance to network with key players in Baltimore’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, learn from visionary keynote speakers, and enjoy intimate workshops that help them find the resources they need for their ventures.

We are happy to announce that Spark Baltimore will be the venue of the inaugural Innov8MD Conference on November 9th from 5–8pm. We will be filling both floors of Spark with demos of student companies, great food and drink, and hundreds of Baltimore innovators.

The inaugural Innov8MD conference is November 9th from 5–8pm

The Innov8MD Conference is an initiative of the Maryland Collegiate Entrepreneurship Coalition (MCEC), which consists of the leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystems at different universities that call Maryland home.

But the conference is only the beginning: our edict is to support student entrepreneurs in Baltimore across all universities, industries, and levels of experience. Our goal is to ensure that no matter where a student is coming from, they are able to access the resources they need to turn their ideas into reality. We may be starting with 8 schools and a conference, but we have plans for so much more.

We would be honored if you would join us for the inaugural Innov8MD Conference. Whether you are a student looking to be inspired, an investor looking for your next investment, or just someone who wants to support the next generation of student entrepreneurs, Innov8MD is the place to be on November 9th.

You can learn more about Innov8MD and buy tickets on our website. All proceeds go towards event expenses and further our mission of supporting student entrepreneurs.
