Podcasts To Get Yo’ Life: Entrepreneurship

Hey y’all. If you know me you know I am the queen of podcasts and I LOVE to share knowledge. If you catch me with headphones I am probably listening to a podcast and not music. I am going to be sharing some of my top picks in various categories each week. I love to curate information and knowledge so if you come to me with a problem, I will probably respond back with a podcast you need to get yo’ life.

Entrepreneurship Top 5

Lisa Nicole Bell, Behind the Brilliance

This is THE show. I love this woman. If you don’t know about it you need to get yo’ life. Lisa has the most inspiring and motivating Q&A solo episodes and interviews with entrepreneurs and creatives. Her guests are so amazing and many of them you probably haven’t heard of…yet. You need her wisdom with a large dose of hilarity in your life. She has a book recommendation for every.damn.thing. She also has these amazing one liners like “threat proof peace” and “profitability over popularity”. Trust me. If you don’t already listen this is the missing piece of your ENTIRE life. Stop reading this post and subscribe.

Happy Black Woman Podcast with Rosetta Thurman

You don’t have to be happy, black or a woman to enjoy this podcast. These episodes are usually a reasonable time like 20–30 min so they are great boost to your day if you need to get over a hump. Rosetta Thurman interviews women who most of the time are running small businesses. Each woman is so unique and has something to contribute. The titles are descriptive so if you can pick and choose. What I love is that Rosetta is dedicated to educating, inspiring and empowering black women to create their ideal lives. Therefore, she cultivates conversations and information that are beneficial to everyone in order to do just that.

Myleik Teele’s Podcast, #MyTaughtYou

I just got hip to this podcast not too long ago, but I am loving it! I *think* Melissa Kimble, Founder of #blkcreatives, put me onto it. Myleik is the Founder of Curlbox.com and she has some amazing tips on productivity, books, quotes, entrepreneurship, professional development, and interviews. Her audience always writes into her with interesting questions and she shares her thoughts. I love that she shares her perspective and her transparent journey towards personal clarity as she grows. If you are looking to step up your game she will (lovingly) remind you that there are no excuses you just need to do the work and not fall prey to the sad story you might tell yourself about not having the life you want. Prepare for some tough love and candid, vulnerable convo.

The Trailblazers.FM Podcast: Black Professionals/Entreprenuers/Corporate Leaders

This is another new find for me, but after the few episodes I have listened to it is definitely making it into my regular podcast lineup. The guests are informative and motivating. That’s really all I have to say about that. It’s worth a listen.

2000 Books for Entrepreneurs

My boyfriend found this podcast and put me on to it. What I love about it is if you go on the website they offer FREE worksheets, mindmaps, & summaries for 40 of the top books for entrepreneurs. If you are one of those people who read, but don’t apply what you are learning, you need this. What good is knowledge if you don’t use it? Regardless if you apply every single book you read, you should take out the time for the ones that you need to get to your next step. Also, who has time to read ALL the books?! Listen to get a brief synopsis and identify the ones you should be reading.
