The state legislature’s Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development will hold a public hearing Friday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Adams National Historical Park Carriage House, 135 Adams Street, Quincy. The event will be hosted by Discover Quincy.

House Chairwoman Cory Atkins and Senate Chairman Eric Lesser will run the hearing, which will allow leaders in the arts, culture, and tourism sectors to testify about their priorities and state government’s role in advancing their work.

The Joint Committee is currently making the case for state support of the arts, humanities, and sciences through the budget process and pending economic development legislation. The hearing will highlight the public value and community impact of these sectors.
