Congrats to all of our 2018 #acceleratebos cohort!

Special congrats to Sanaa with Friends this years winners!

Another great year in the books for #acceleratebos. 13 businesses completed the 6 month accelerator class and 10 pitched for $10,000. Once again some amazing businesses have been a part of this years cohort including Mathmatiks Athletics, Corny Bread and 33 tao, a holistic yoga and nutrition center aimed at helping people of color process PTSD.

This years winner was Sanaa with friends!

Sanaa (meaning art in Swahili) with Friends is a multicultural paint night that has been a growing movement in Boston. They hosted 50 events last year, engaging over sometimes hundreds of clients at a party. Sanaa plans on doubling that this year with the financial support.

“Thank you TCP AccelerateBoston 2018 Cohort, organizers and judges. It feels amazing to be in spaces where individuals can feel free to lead with their racial identity. AccelerateBoston like Sanaa with Friends creates such spaces. I am appreciative for the experience and applied knowledge. Looking forward to our next steps.” Says Taneekah Johnson, Co-Owner Sanaa with Friends

This is the 6th year Accelerate Boston has ended with a pitch contest. Past years winners include, Fresh Food Generation, BeautyLynk and Trillfit. Six aulmni have been listed in Best of Boston and Forbes 30 under 30. Proving there are profitable and attractive businesses in minority communities.

“I am so grateful that Sanaa with Friends was chosen and encouraged to be a part of the 2018 TCP AccelerateBoston cohort. The experience was priceless and the knowledge gained is already being applied. Winning the business pitch contest is the absolute cherry on top and it feels amazing! Thank you…the future is ours!” Says Victoria Downes, Co-Owner Sanaa with Friends

#acceleratebos will be launching a 2.0 program for alumni to give them further access to capitial and support for growth. Stay tuned!!
