Honoring the Tradition of “Blessed Women’s Leadership” in Africa and America

The Queen Mothers from Ghana are embarking on a national tour of the United States this spring! Hosted by local organization Boston Pan-African Forum and sponsored by Pan African Multimedia of Accra, this is an event you will not want to miss. The primary objectives of these visits are to introduce the Queen Mothers to the public, and to spark an intercultural dialogue between different communities on universal questions such as family life and social goals.

The four Queen Mothers and their interpreters will discuss their role in African villages today, their respective governing styles, and their communities’ hope and aspirations for the future. They will also talk about their development partnerships and how they practice “good governance” in confronting contemporary problems of governance. The Queen Mothers hope to correct misconceptions and ignorance in our own society, promote pride and achievement among our own youth, as well as broaden the experience and perspective of the Queens themselves, and help them advance their own community development projects at home.

The tour is still accepting contributions. If you would like to be a part of this wonderful cultural experience, send a check to Boston Pan African Forum P.O Box 55, Newton, MA 02464 with a notation for the Queen Mothers Project. All contributions will be tax exempt.
