The Boston Foundation Launches 2 New Artist Grants!
The Boston Foundation is one of the oldest & one of the largest community foundations in the nation. The city has a wealth of untapped artistic talent and the Boston Foundation is hoping to create a viable ecocsytem for artistic endeavors through their two new grant programs. These programs will funnel “money directly to performing artists, small nonprofit performing arts organizations and groups to make work and/or to support professional growth.”
There is an information session tonight (September 28th) at 6pm at Hibernian Hall in Dudley Square. Here is a list of additional information sessions: http://www.tbf.org/artsinfosessions
Live Arts Boston (LAB)
“Designed to respond directly to the needs articulated by Boston’s arts community through Boston Creates, Live Arts Boston ( LAB, formerly Catalyzing Creativity) provides critically needed, flexible, project-specific support to performing artists and small nonprofit performing arts organizations working in Greater Boston to create, produce or present artistic work for Greater Boston audiences.
Funding will be directed to work in the following performing arts disciplines: dance, theater, spoken word, performance art, circus arts, certain specified genres of music* or any inter or multi-disciplinary combination of the above.
Boston is home to some of the best European classical music in the world but we also breed excellence in rock, popular, folk, blues, jazz, and world music forms which receive significantly less institutional philanthropic support. As such, European classical music projects are not currently supported by LAB. Launch Date: September 30, 2016
