The film chronicles the remarkable story of the first community land trust in the US, started by civil rights leaders Charles and Shirley Sherrod and others. Haunted Off The Wall — A Live Graffiti Art Gallery + Block Party

“Live graffiti art gallery + block party — #OFFTHEWALL is back by popular demand…..but this time it’s HAUNTED. Don’t miss Boston’s biggest Halloween block party featuring local and internationally recognized graffiti artists, musicians & creators of all kinds at the South End Open Market @ Ink Block.

Not to worry, our annual South End Open Market Halloween costume contest is also happening and this year’s theme is the ‘market of living dolls.’ The contest will kick off with a Halloween pet parade 12:30pm, followed by a march of the living dolls at 1:00pm. Prizes will be awarded to winners in multiple categories. Pumpkin painting will be available for children of all ages during the live gallery’s hours of operation. Beer and wine will be available for purchase starting at 11:00 am for those 21 years and over.”

Festival activities include: a haunted house created by HSTF youth leaders hosted by Re/Max Destiny, games, prizes, face painting, and spooky decorations. Candy provided by United Latino Entrepreneurs.”

Annual Artists Under The Dome

“For the tenth time, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is inviting Massachusetts artists working in all disciplines (visual arts, literary, performing, crafts, new media, etc.) to the State House on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 9:30am to 2pm in the State House’s Great Hall to thank them for all they contribute to our state’s economy and quality of life. As part of the 10th Annual event, there will be a lunch time celebration for the 10th Anniversary of this event! There will also be an afternoon panel unveiling MALC’s labor policy recommendations for the Commonwealth.

The entire event is free and open to the public. Those attending the State House event are strongly encouraged to register.”
