‘“The House Slam” at the Haley House Café (12 Dade Street, Boston, 02119) is Boston’s New Poetry Slam venue located in the heart of Dudley Square. The venue offers awesome food, an open mic, a featured poet and a poetry slam every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. The venue is free of cost and welcoming to all (18+). Doors/Seating Open at 6:30pm
Poetry Slam begins at 7:15pm (sign-up upon arrival). Featured Poet begins at 8:45pm

OvaEZ: 15th Serving

Hosted by: OvaEZ & Ryles Jazz Club

Boston’s hottest day party is back for its 15th Serving with music by two of Boston’s greats, DJ Real P & DJ Papadon. DJ Candy Raine & DJ E DUBBLE have guest sets. With this DJ curation and complimentary chicken and waffles a la Chicken Gawd, there’s really no reason not to come to OvaEZ.

This event is 21+ and tickets are $15.

POC Heal + Feel Night

“Coming out of this election, so many of us are left feeling physically and emotionally drained. POC Heal + Feel Night will provide a safe space for people of color to come chill with each other, write, meditate and listen to dope music. 5:30–6:30PM: Free Gentle Yoga by Hands to Heart Center, 6:30–7:30PM: Participate in a guided meditation session, write, or just hang out. Whatever you need to do to take care of yourself, 7:30–8:30PM: Open Mic hosted by Mistah Matt Parker. Have a poem or story you want to share? Wrote a new song? Just need to talk? We got your back.

FREE and open to the public. Food from Millenium provided.

Yoga Community Series

“This event has been designed specifically for the transgender community.The Women’s Health Team at Fenway is partnering with community organizations to offer yoga workshops in diverse neighborhoods. Theresa Okokon, a yoga teacher and a social worker who specializes in trauma-informed yoga, yoga for beginners, and yoga for fully figured individuals, leads the workshop.

TransCEND (Transgender Care and Education Needs Diversity) provides support and risk reduction services to transgender women and transgender men. The program offers member support, assistance with accessing basic services, medical care, support groups, educational groups, risk reduction materials, and individual case management.”

intended as a kind of imitation. The term also refers to an original composition that deliberately mimics the style of another author, usually in a spirit of respect rather than mockery of satire.”
