The Reunion Project
Hosted by: Brookline Senior Center
“Nearly 50 women between the ages of 65 and 100 travel back in time to meet their younger selves at the Brookline Senior Center Reunion Project.
Celebrated Photographer Lora Brody designed the project which features photographs and quotations on display at the Brookline Senior Center, 93 Winchester Street, Brookline from April 3 to June 30 and at Gallery M of Goddard House, 165 Chestnut Street, Brookline through May 31. The project was designed to encourage older women to reflect on their memories and recognize the wisdom that comes with age.
Brody will present images, narrative, and history of the project at a reception at the Senior Center on April 20, from 6 to 8 pm and at Goddard House on April 29 and 30 at 2 pm.
Ruthann Dobek, director of the Brookline Council on Aging and director of the Brookline Senior Center, says, “It’s important to promote positive images of aging with an emphasis on the history and wisdom people bring to their life experiences.” ”

Ambreen Butt: I Need a Hero

“Ambreen Butt is the ninth Artist-in-Residence to create a temporary site-specific work for the Museum’s Anne H. Fitzpatrick Façade. Trained as a miniature painter in Lahore, Pakistan, Ambreen uses the dramatic imagery and storytelling of this traditional art form to comment on contemporary issues.
This 16 x 36 foot installation will be displayed at the Museum until June 26, 2017.”

Artist Walk of the Fens

“Join artist Teri Rueb for a guided listening walk through the Back Bay Fens, exploring Fens, a site-specific GPS-based listening walk (the project is a free app available for download via iTunes or the Google Play Store). Rueb and co-creator Ernst Karel’s sound art installation, Fens, is part of the Gardner’s new sound art exhibition Listen Hear: The Art of Sound.
The walk with Rueb will include artist comments and an introduction to the work with a suggested itinerary. Time for questions and discussion will follow a 45 minute, self-guided walk in the park. Be sure to download the app in advance, charge up your phone, and bring headphones or earbuds.”
