Dutch elections results, worst election chart ever

Which party got bigger as of the last elections in 2012? There were a lot of good visualisations of the national results. But here I stumbled upon the local Amsterdam broadcaster AT5 who communicated the charts from the Amsterdam government. I guess their time was of the essence.

With two deadly pie charts the government of Amsterdam tried to show where the citizens of Amsterdam voted on and compared it with the 2012 results.

Inspired by the national election graph from the Financial Times I tried the same approach on the local data. Where the liberal right wing party VVD won the national elections, the ‘Greens’ were the big winners in Amsterdam (and what a change opposed to the elections in 2012!).

This is a repost and part 2 of the series Data Visualisation Redesigned for the Better.

Do you stumble upon a crappy graph? Please let me know! Cheers 🙂
