A Day in Ebersberg
To catch up with family friends for lunch, we travelled out to Ebersberg, a town of about 11,000 and 30km outside of Munich.
As far as festive meals go, it was an epic eight-hour marathon with much mirth and merriment. I was introduced to the local beer — Landpils, featuring a portrait of a man daring me to drink it — and Grünkohl, a speciality of north Germany consisting of a leafy green with pork sausages.
The German winter once again turned out a perfect day of sunshine and blue skies, albeit hovering in single-digit temperatures.
