Dong Nai province in Vietnam starts to roll out TE-FOOD’s traceability system from May

After more than a year of pilot operation, Vietnam’s number one pork production province, Dong Nai starts to roll out the traceability of essential foods of animal origin.

The objective of the project is to establish a system for identification, management and traceability of products of animal origin on a high technology application, strengthen the capacity of management, quality control of products from breeding, slaughtering, transportation, trading and consumption in the province.

The system helps regulators to ensure food safety regulations, and the interests of consumers, meeting the needs of using clean products for daily consumption. Thereby, contributing to brand building and improving competitiveness for pork suppliers, businesses, farmers and traders meeting VietGAP standards.

After several months of implementation related activities and procedures, the project officially went into trial operation on December 23 2021 at markets and convenience stores. During the next months, several farms, pig raising and collection facilities, slaughterhouses, traders, markets, and conveninence stores are expected to join the program, start collecting data throughout the supply chain, and store the information on the TrustChain blockchain.
