In order to provide transparency to consumers, Hungarian fruit syrup producer Pölöskei implemented TE-FOOD to track and trace the sourcing and production of their fruit syrups.
The implementation was led by TE-FOOD’s partner in Hungary, Laurel Ltd.
Pölöskei processes 2400 tonnes of fruit, in 33 different products, and sells it in Hungary, as well as exports to four neighbouring countries.
As a pilot, the company implemented TE-FOOD’s blockchain based traceability solution for its strawberry and raspberry syrup products.
Selected data of the traceability information is shown for consumers when they scan the QR code on the products, and the data is registered on the FoodChain, TE-FOOD’s decentralized blockchain ledger.
We believe this project shows that traceability becomes more and more important for any kind of food and beverage producer, as a fast growing segment of consumers demand a sustainable and transparent food industry.
