TE-FOOD partners with Bizerba to prepare for the spread of IOT in supply chains

The demand for information on the provenance and production methods of food products is slowly, but steadily growing. This requires traceability solution providers to implement tools which make the data collection easier and quicker for the companies.

Until now, companies collected data points manually, by typing in the information directly to the traceability system, or to a connected legacy system. While the obvious advantage of this solution was the fast and effortless implementation, the disadvantage is the error-prone characteristics of the human data entry.

The future will be more autonomous, more automated data collection, providing more trusted data.

TE-FOOD signed a MoU with Bizerba South East Asia to work together with one of the top IOT device producers on the future of supply chains.

The cooperation aims to integrate Bizerba devices with TE-FOOD’s food traceability solutions, as well as to work out targeted hardware-software solution packages for supply chain companies.

Bizerba is a worldwide leading specialist in industrial weighing and labeling technologies, headquartered in Germany. Bizerba scales, checkout systems, labelers, slicers are used amongst the top food producer and retail companies around the world.

Smart scales, labelers, warehousing robots, RFID gates, drones, processing machines equipped with various sensors will all be part of automation, as the upcoming technological shift in food traceability. TE-FOOD is determined to prepare for this trend.
