TE-FOOD signed a sales and implementation partnership with India based Tier 1 Network, an established agritech business and solutions provider in the Asian country. Their farm technology business unit is called Tier 1 Digital, which includes the farm management software Rain+ Suite, part of the company earlier known as Frontal Rain Technologies.
The Indian food and grocery market is the world’s sixth largest, with 34 billion USD export volume. Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about 58 per cent of India’s population. The government invests enormous amounts to strengthen the food testing infrastructure.
Tier 1 Digital is developing the Rain+ supply chain management software suite, which provides a set of software products from farm management to collaborative trading. Its founders — who came from senior executive positions of corporate IT and food and agriculture companies like SAP, John Deere and Griffith Foods — have decades of competence and experience on providing agritech solutions and managing farm operations.
The Bangalore based solution provider has successfully served thousands of customers from the food and agriculture industry.
The two companies decided to work together to supplement each other’s product portfolio to benefit their clients.
Tier 1 Digital will work to sell and implement TE-FOOD’s blockchain based food traceability solution to food companies in India. In the future, TE-FOOD intends to offer Tier 1 Digital’s Rain+ suite to its customers all around the world to manage their supply chain activities. The parties decided to connect the two systems to fill the gaps of their solutions and provide a complete suite of software for food companies.
A representation in India, a country of 1,3 billion people and an accelerating economy is unavoidable for a traceability solution provider trying to establish itself on a global scale.
