Brussels sprouts look like baby cabbages on a stalk

I lived for a time in Brussels, the homeland of this namesake vegetable.

I never imagined I’d end up in California and greet the odd veggie again, or buy it by the stalk. Brussels sprouts were a rare find years ago.
