Camellias burst open in the garden

It’s January and the camellias have not disappointed. They have opened in great abundance.

I worried that a sudden stretch of bitter cold would cause them to suffer and the buds to drop off. These pink beauties turned out to be a hearty lot. Refusing to let Mother Nature deter them from giving my garden a splash of color.

Welcome to Tea with Mother Nature, a publication to start conversations about connecting with nature, gardening, sustainability, creativity and what it means to be a human. What has she got to teach us? What would we like to tell her about our interactions with her natural world?
