Late last week, I resumed my walk around the inner harbour. It was good to see less algae, which prevents water birds and birds of prey feeding. Here is a small reed bed. They are vital habitat for all sorts of creatures. Water birds nest in them, although some nest on dry land or on roofs. My own roof needs repair. I cannot go in winter as the ground is too bog-like.

Bluebells are carpeting various areas near my town. On my walk, I saw several areas of them. Note how they droop to one side, and all face the same direction. This marks out English bluebells. We have invaders that don’t droop.

These are dandelions, daisies, and buttercups. I had a better photo but deleted it in error. I only use my phone camera on these walks. I fear tripping on a root and breaking my DSLR.
