Crazy plant lady shares her secrets on how to propagate plants

All of us crazy plant individuals, whether your obsession is outside in your garden or your jungle-filled house, know that we don’t mess around when it comes to propagation. But if you’re just entering the world of the green thumb and want to multiply your collection without buying more plants, you’re in luck. With these simple steps, your collection can double in size in just a matter of weeks.

Before we start, let’s make sure we all understand what propagation is. Get Busy Gardening explains that propagation is the process of creating new plants from existing ones. This can be done by cutting leaves or stems off the foliage and then being placed in water (Like the picture above) or planted in the ground (Like the picture below). Over time in either the jar of water or the pot of dirt, roots will begin to develop.

In this article, I will mainly be focusing on water propagation because, in my mind, it is the most fun and interactive way to connect with your plants.
