The Poppies are Popping in the West
It’s been more than 100 years since the poppy was designated the official flower of California.
The wildflower comes in colors of yellow and orange, with petals that look like crepe paper. They are delicate and yet hearty at the same time.
At night they close up and sleep until the warmth of the sun awakens them. Then the brilliant orange flower puts on a spectacular show.
