Tell us a bit about your background.
I grew up in a Moroccan muslim household and we spent a lot of time during my childhood traveling between Casablanca and New York. When we moved to NYC, we lived in Astoria, Queens. I loved growing up in Astoria because of the diversity and the different restaurants and cultures you see around you. There was also a huge Moroccan community in Astoria so it was nice to feel connected with my roots and community, while still experiencing and appreciating different cultures.
What drew you to Teachable?
I was super excited to join Teachable after I met and spoke with different team members during the interview process. They were all so kind and the culture seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. I also loved the mission of the company as a whole.
Now that you’ve been with the team for a while, what has been your experience?
My experience with Teachable has been the greatest experience yet! I love the culture — the option to work remotely or from the office, transparency from leadership, and kindness and understanding among my team. It’s so nice to know I can always depend on them if I have something going on and they can do the same.
How have you found or built a community at Teachable?
The entire Teachable team recently came together for our first :transform by Teachable offsite. This consisted of three jam-packed days of learning, collaborating, and creativity, particularly as we kick off 2023. It was an amazing chance to connect in-person and build community. I’m looking forward to more opportunities to get to know my team members even better down the line!
