What’s your name & role at Teachable?

Tia & Brand & Content Project Manager, Co-Lead of the Women of Teachable ERG

What’s your role in the ERG?

Co-lead

What is the mission of the ERG? How does the mission impact the employee experience?

Our mission is to support and empower women by fostering a community at Teachable that provides professional development and educational opportunities.

What value are you looking to provide ERG members? How do you hope this will impact the rest of the company? To our creators?

I’m looking to continue fostering a supportive network by carving out space to connect via shared experiences and inspiration. This will take shape through thoughtfully curated events with our creators and inspiring women within our network. We’re kicking off those events this month for Women’s History Month, and I’m thrilled to partner with other ERGS to bring some amazing creators to our internal team at Teachable. We boast a large community so being able to get everyone together is one of my big goals this quarter.

What are you most proud of about the ERG?
I’m proud of the kind and thoughtful dialogue that we have regardless of topic. Every person in the group has a voice and the women of this group consistently show up to support one another. Engagement ranges from travel recommendations to how to go about finding the right CPA. Regardless of the question or comment, I am constantly inspired by and grateful for this community. This space provides meaningful connection and support for women at Teachable which is invaluable in our remote-first environment.

What does the quarter (or year) ahead look like for the ERG?

This is a big quarter! We’re partnering with multiple ERGs to host speakers for Women’s History Month which we are very excited about! Amongst those speakers are some of our colleagues and inspiring creators from our platform. We’re kicking off our first week by hosting our Senior Vice President of Revenue, Anna Elwood, who will be talking about leadership and motherhood. The following week we have partnered with the BE@T (Black Employees at Teachable) ERG to host Jo Franco, content creator and founder of JoClub, who will be walking us through live journaling and how it ties into both professional and personal development.
