It’s that time of year again: the beginning of the school year! This can be a time of excitement and anticipation, but it can also be a time of stress and anxiety. One of the most important things you can do to set your students up for success is to create a great classroom culture. In this blog post, we will discuss seven ways to do just that!

1. Establish classroom rules and expectations

In order to create a positive and productive learning environment, it is important to establish rules and expectations from the outset. I liked to start the year by having a class discussion about what kind of classroom we wanted to create together.

This gives students a chance to share their ideas and helps shape the tone of the classroom. Once we have established some ground rules, I make sure to model and reinforce expected behavior on a daily basis.

In addition, I provide regular feedback — both positive and constructive — so that students are aware of how they are doing. By taking these steps, we can create a class climate that is conducive to learning for everyone.

2. Get to know your students
