What I Tell Parents About Transitioning to Middle School

I have spent most of my career transitioning students and their parents to middle school. For decades, I have had conversation after conversation with anxious parents. Their concerns are varied. Sometimes, fears stem from the parents’ own experiences in middle school. Other times, parents fear middle school because of the stories they have heard.
