What a year today has been! Today was the final day of coding before hitting a feature freeze. As of this evening, no new features can be added to projects; we are now expected to refine our creations and work on our presentation for the fast-approaching Demo day.

Today was full of unexpected bumps and detours as we hurried to merge our final creations into one product. It was not without its challenges — from our research and experiences, Swift storyboards don’t always merge easily, nor are they easily changed once they have been merged. It was a delicate and lengthy process to create a cohesive project that runs smoothly.

We finished yesterday on a high note with most of our features completed. We started our day with a standup to determine what remained.

Some of the remaining issues to be addressed

Alec, Roberta and Josh split their day working to incorporate the game logic into their challenges, as well as to create some of the documentation needed for our finished product. Roberta also found a way to address edge cases around the scoring of our game. Jay refined the maps to work with our game logic as well as created the final location for our game. Heli and Danielle worked on the content of the game, creating stories to link the challenges together.

By the end of the day, we felt confident enough in our project to load our app onto an iPad to see what it would look like…

This is when we realised that setting object constraints could no longer be put off.

We agreed that tomorrow will be dedicated to fine-tuning our project, including setting constraints and giving our project a cohesive display style. We also need to finish our documentation for the project and complete/practice our presentation because just like winter, demo day is coming….
