Welcome to more long phases in this design challenge. With our target user group set as the post-retirement aging population, we chose to assist them against boredom with the following possible solution spaces:

  1. To keep them motivated and active, what if there was a way to give them new achievable challenges everyday till it becomes a habit
  2. What if there was a sensitizing toolkit for younger generations to have access to quantifiable data about the efforts of the aging population over the years
  3. What if there was a way in which the aging population could take up new hobbies and activities
  4. What if there was a way to fight boredom by service to society
  5. What if there was a co-learning maker space community for them
  6. What role can social robots play in assisting this population
  7. What if the aging population could share their life stories with the younger generation to create an impact on their lives

From all the possible directions that we ideated on, we chose point 3 as our solution direction since we were able to look at near-future emerging technologies to assist the aging population against boredom and also provide a method of physical therapy and mental stimulation.
