Kirsten’s seventh trip to Iowa was chock-full of fun events, exciting energy, and powerful moments with caucus-goers. Revisit the weekend in some of our favorite photos!

#TeamGillibrand Organizer Training 📋

The first thing Kirsten did when she got to Iowa was surprise all of our new field organizers! So proud to have these dedicated and passionate team members on the ground in Iowa. Welcome to the family!

Iowa Safe Schools 🥔💅

At Iowa Safe Schools, Kirsten joined students to design her very own drag tater(!) while she shared how her recently-released LGBTQ rights agenda supports LGBTQ young people and students like them.

Meet & Greet @ Blazing Saddle 🌈🍻

This wasn’t Kirsten’s first visit to the Blazing Saddle, and she got quite the welcome back on Pride weekend! She talked about her LGBTQ rights agenda and how she’ll fight for LGBTQ people as president — then hopped behind the bar to serve up drinks.

Iowa 2020 Book Club 📚👶

Kirsten started her day by joining caucus-goers for a book club meeting hosted by Iowa Democratic Party Vice Chair Andrea Phillips. She shared stories from her own book, Off the Sidelines, and then read her children’s book Bold & Brave to kids in the audience — including many aspiring future presidents.

Capital City Pride ✊🏳️‍🌈

After the book club, Kirsten met up with some old friends — drag queen Vana Rosenberg and Iowa Stonewall Democrats Chair Kyla Paterson — to join the Pride celebration in downtown Des Moines. She also spoke at the Meet the Candidates Forum where she shared her record of standing up and speaking out to defend the rights of LGBTQ families — a record she’ll continue as president.

Big Tent on the Prairie 🇺🇸

From Pride, Kirsten went to meet caucus-goers in Ames where she ran into a friend.

Birthday Shenanigans 🎂

Of course, Kirsten didn’t miss the chance to celebrate our Iowa State Director’s birthday!

Morning Workout 💪🚜

Like most mornings on the campaign trail, Kirsten started off her day with a workout to get herself warmed up for the Iowa Hall of Fame celebration. It involved some heavy lifting — literally.

Iowa Hall of Fame 📢💞

Team Gillibrand turned out in Cedar Rapids to cheer on Kirsten at the Iowa Democrats Hall of Fame celebration. After visiting her fired-up and pink-clad supporters — and leading them in some chants — she gave a barnburner of a speech about the power of women to determine this election and lead our country. Maybe we’re biased, but judging by the applause from the crowd, it was clear she crushed it.

The whole event was full of inspiring and mold-breaking women, including Theresa Greenfield and Rep. Abby Finkenauer.

You can watch Kirsten’s full speech here:

So, how did the trip go? Check out the Monday morning news:

But if you ask us (or Kirsten), some of the biggest highlights came from moments with the littlest Iowans.
