Outpost has the facility of being a novel and interesting interface for collecting and sharing information for everyone. Being a touch screen and having the ability to converse with the post allows anyone to build a search for a topic.

As the different searches build there is a sharing and gathering of information that allows for an enormous collection of up to date and relevant digital data. Showing a trail of research and associated networks provides the person with a social experience where they are able to browse information.

This browsing sensation is also generated by the post which shows headlines of people’s searches and like browsing through a newspaper or magazine people can choose to get involved and read and build on the research being undertaken.

Prototype of OUTPOST: Allows people to search and share information and then transfer for their own use.

A limitation of the concept could be the screening of appropriate information that is being searched and this would have to be screened in the major hub at the Victorian State Library in a similar manner as government school have blocks on certain topics of noted websites for being dangerous.

With the concept being popular and more people wanting to use this style of interface the form may have to evolve to various structures such as a wall where more than one person can interact at any one time.
