🚩 Final Final Sprint

In this final week of the semester for this project, we were all giving our best to the final presentation and the closure! We had intensive breakout sessions to work individually and come together for review and refinement. Nandini mainly took on the concept video, Michelle in charge of the prototype, Eustina for brushing up the language in writing, and Anna for the overall branding on product and slides. We built our entire presentation on Figma and backed up with pdf and google slide versions.

We had extensive discussions on how to make the concept video more effective in highlighting the value of our design + giving an overview of the functionalities + balancing memories and planning + addressing the emotional aspects of life + fitting the lyrics and visuals. We hosted a video testing session with 4 design grads (MA + MDes 2nd year) who are not familiar with our project. We showed a rough cut of the video to them without introducing what it was for and received lots of valuable, honest, and constructive feedback for us to work on.

After receiving this feedback we worked together to figure out the most effective way to introduce our video in conjunction with our presentation landing on the framing:

How might we make planning a part of living?

After developing the introduction of our presentation we outlined the rest of the presentation as follows

1. Identifying the Problem Space (In Reference to COVID)

2. Brief Overview of the User Journey

3. In-depth Overview of Product Features

4. How We Got to Our Concept-Research-Driven Design Process

5. Insights Informing Our Design

6. Value for Stakeholders

7. Digital Infrastructure

8. Societal Impact

We received the following complements and feedback after our presentation.

Compliments & Feedback

“I love this project so much! You have developed so much as a team and I have really enjoyed following this process.” by Liza Chong, CEO of Index

“The visual presentation is strong, relatable, trustworthy, and looking easily implementable.” by Ditte Fiil Ravn, Index

“Great video and presentation. You really synthesized all of the research you gathered, making Life fun and proactive. Agree with Arnold’s comments about ease of use, etc. Appreciated your addition of COVID-19 — makes this even more important now.” by Jill Chisnell

“Your ad was beautiful and it almost felt like I could cry.” by Isha Hans

“Your solution is very well throughout. It makes a lot of sense to have a life planning tool in the operating system itself. Also, great video!” by Anuprita Ranade

“The video was so impressive! Great job! Really good walkthrough of the app as well. The functionality was explained very well and it seemed very simple to use since it is so well integrated.” by Aadya Krishnaprasad

“I love the aspect of blurring lines between life and death. Death matters because life goes on. Everything is so well thought through. I think you made some great bold choices in how to place your product which gives us a concrete idea to think about.” by Diana Chun

“I really really liked the presentation! It felt very thought-through… the transitions, timing.” by Shambhavi Deshpande

“If Life was available today I would buy it immediately. I felt like you understood what I need — something that will walk me through the process of those daunting decisions, and allow me to do it in manageable chunks. I’m impressed with you all.” by Anita Kulina Smith

“You had me when you said _peace of mind_. it’s a gift of a solution that I didn’t know I need.” by Charlotte Høeg Andersen

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and we are excited to have the opportunity to submit our project to Index in addition to exploring opportunities for our concept outside the classroom.

A final thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. Thank you!
