A doozy 2020 has come to an end. But despite all the ups and downs, the Oceans community pushed the boundaries of the diving industry further. Let’s take a look back at what we accomplished this year…

A dive system for the 21st century diver.

In the beginning of the year, we shipped Oceans 3 Hammerhead and introduced automatic color correction to the app.

Green and blue tinted photos from your diving adventures are now magically fixed with a tap of a button. Give it a try and see the magic by yourself.

A SUPERSONIC™ future.

In 2020, we also shipped the first batch of the all-new Oceans S1 Supersonic, the first ever wearable dive computer with built-in buddy communications. A game changer in the diving industry, adding a whole new dimension to recreational scuba diving. Hundreds and hundreds of divers around the world are now using S1, and we love to see the logs coming into Oceans.

PS. If you’re still looking for a gift this holiday, here’s 10% discount on our online store valid through December. Use code HOLIDAYS in checkout at oceans.io/s1.

Dive of the Year Awards.

In June, on World Oceans Day, our ambassador Fabien Cousteau announced this year’s #DiveoftheYear award winners. Have a look at our Instagram to see all the #DiveoftheWeek highlights selected every weekend with a chance to become next year’s #DiveoftheYear!

Citizen Science.

From our community we got many reports from around the world on coral reefs looking more healthy, likely due to lockdowns. We still have a ton to do in making sure our planet is not overheating, but it’s a sign of hope to see that every little step helps in the fight on climate change. We will continue to develop our citizen science program in 2021, and looking forward to create our first report during next year.

2021 & beyond…

In 2014, we launched the first release of Oceans. Today, we’re a global community used by tens of thousands of oceans champions around the world, including you.

We have an exciting roadmap for the coming year that we can’t wait to tell you more about, and we like to thank all of you for being part in creating this amazing community, sharing stunning logs from the world underwater.

Happy holidays, happy new year, and we hope you’re as excited as us to dive into 2021!
