We Endorse Green Party Member Gerardo Hernandez For Youth Assembly (CA-27)
Today my campaign for President is proud to announce the endorsement of Gerardo Hernandez in his run for Youth Assembly in California’s 27th district, which the Youth Assembly District Map puts as Los Angeles County.

Gerardo is a very active member of Green Party. Gerardo is on the National Green Party’s Lavender Caucus and is also on the Media and Presidential Campaign Support Committee for the National Green Party.
Something I really appreciate about Gerardo’s campaign is how they’re working on increasing work with LGBTQIA+ groups and for the protection of the tribal sovereignty of native people who are so frequently marginalized and overlooked. As I’m someone who identifies as being Bi/Pansexual, a group that’s frequently omitted, it’s refreshing to see a young person like Gerardo so clearly state the groups they would reach out.
Gerardo has a deep understanding of some of the strongest policies and platform points that the Green Party stands for. For example, they are campaigning on Green Party staples like the Green New Deal, which would fundamentally and simultaneously tackle impending climate catastrophe and help boost our economy.
However, one of the most impressive policy proposals to me is Gerardo calling for a New National Department of Peace. My campaign couldn’t agree more that the United States must do all it can to demilitarize and stop being the worlds unilateral police force. A Department of Peace that is focused on International cooperation and working in concert with other nations on peaceful projects is exactly the kind of evolutionary policy that we need from a Youth Assembly Representative.
As someone that works in education myself I love how Gerardo wants to increase awareness of the Continental Youth Assembly and Youth Government by investing in teacher awareness training. I personally only learned about youth government programs very late in my high school career and I wish I had more time in school to participate. Working with teachers will go a long way to raise awareness of this and other youth programs out there.
For all those reasons and more, myself and my entire team are thrilled to endorse Gerardo Hernandez For Youth Assembly.
