Mailchimp. Because they bootstrapped in a tough space. Because they did it not in the Valley. Because their ads on the Startup podcast were awesome.

Calendly, no question. Not only has their software changed my life, saving me literally dozens of hours each month in scheduling, but they’re seemingly an awesome company too. Bootstrapped, apparently, after a seed round back in 2014, minority founder, based in Atlanta…they are like the anti-startup in the best possible way. Oh, and their team, according to the website, is over 50% women. LOVE.

Basecamp. Need I say more? #businesscrush

Google. Because they have ALL of my information. And use it to give me a personalized experience. And Facebook, because I love React. And PayPal, because they have nice animations on their site. (editor’s note: Jon is indecisive)

With esports teams receiving funding all of the time, it can be hard for companies to stay afloat without outside help. TSM has managed to not only avoid any additional partners, but has stayed on top of the competition across many divisions. Founder Andy “Reginald” Dinh, has created an esports empire without ever completing a college degree, and landed on Forbes’ 30 under 30 this year for gaming. It’s been incredible to watch Dinh grow from a pro player I admired to a CEO I respect, and it’s clear that he and TSM aren’t going away any time soon. Plus, I love their logo.

Twitter, because of its ability to transcend traditional communication methods. And, it helped facilitate the Arab spring.
