Under the assignment of responding other’s blog post, I read some blogs about teamwork. Then, I have some ideas of teamwork due to one of these blogs: the importance of communication in the teamwork.

Division of labor occupies an important strategic position in teamwork. If the division of labor is not clear, the appropriate person cannot be in the appropriate role, the outcome is often less than half of the effort. The operation is specialized, and the best suitable contribution of each person can create the best outcome. Therefore, how do you assign a role to the optimal combination? That is communication. When you are building a team, you should not work immediately, no matter how urgent the task is. Instead, you should take time to communicate with each other. After the optimal role is completed, each member should communicate as much as possible.

In the communication among team members, miscommunication often exists. In Chelsea Wang’s opinion, the main cause of miscommunication is the lack of understanding among team members. It is common for us not to accept others’ opinions when we believe that our ideas are the best one (2018). It is impossible to solve all problems with one’s experience and breadth of knowledge. This is where the strength of the team comes into play. Under the premise of effective and enough communication, many problems can be solved easily.

Therefore, having an open mindset is the key for an effective communication (Wang, 2018). Communication is a mutual behavior, so one of the two sides should be good at expressing ideas and the other should be good at listening. Through the constant process of communication, listening, getting feedback, team members could clear the theme of the communication and the solutions of the problem. Communication is an interactive process, and the two sides of communication can only achieve the purpose of communication by cooperating actively.
