Takeaways

In many cases, Product Strategy is derived from, and closely be aligned with, Company Strategy. But when the two are not aligned, e.g., when a new product strategy explores a new business model, it is crucial that leadership recognizes, understands, and supports the product strategy.

Every PM knows that communication is a significant element of their job. It fosters alignment and efficient use of people’s time across teams, relays critical information across constituencies, preempts problems, and helps “sell” your vision to leadership. A great PM also realizes that if they help improve the communication skills of others — across teams — they can achieve an even more effective data-driven decision-making and alignment.
