What a dramatic title, right? Hey, I had to draw your attention in some or other way!

All jokes aside… this is a serious matter.

Even though serious, you may laugh. Both my husband and I believe you can only joke about something when you understand how serious it is. Not the laughter to cover nerves or anxiety — sometimes I do that. No, it’s always a joke with a nugget of truth in it, and it releases the tension we already feel.

At least, it works that way for me.

My 2024 ended totally differently from what I would have predicted before 22 November. That day, they discovered a huge cyst in my belly, probably coming from an ovary. I consulted a gynaecologist, and the word ‘malignant’ was also spoken. A 15% chance. That’s still an 85% chance that it’s benign.

Yes, always look on the bright side!

And to be honest, from the moment they discovered the cyst, my feeling was that all will be well. I still believe it.

On Thursday 16 January 2025, they will remove the intruder from my body, and hopefully, my ‘pregnant belly’ will disappear. Yes, I seriously joked…
