Apple and Starlink Aren’t Sitting in a Tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G
But Starlink and T-Mobile are dating
Sometimes I wonder if there really are people who are so…
Never mind. Apparently, TikTok is full of angry people who hate Elon Musk. That doesn’t bother me at all; I never thought there was much good to say about him, and his most recent antics have only made it worse.
What bothers me is that these — umm — people think Apple has joined hands with Musk’s Starlink service. This is not the case at all; it’s T-Mobile and Starlink who have been smooching behind the barn and have stepped out to declare that they are now dating seriously.
I understand it is an open relationship, though. No exclusivity.
Anyway, Apple already supports T-Mobile. I’m glad they do, because T-Mobile offers Senior Discounts, which makes the Lawrence family cellular bill about thirty percent less than it was when we were dating Verizon.
Apple isn’t making you use Starlink or T-Mobile. These are both choices you can make. At the moment, T-Mobile is only offering Starlink as a beta to a small group of users, but if they do someday make it available to everyone, you’ll be able to shut Starlink off in your iPhone Settings.
