Apple Podcasts Is One of My Most Used Apps, But I Never Listen to It

Transcripts, baby!

Back in March of 2024, I wrote about some new features in the beta of that month and said this about the Podcasts app:

But now, once you figure out how to do it, Apple will show you its AI-generated transcript. You can even stop the podcast from playing and just read the transcript. That’s something I much prefer to do because I can read at least twice as fast as anyone can talk and I can skim for what I want four times faster again. And promptly forgot all about it.

Forgetting was largely aided by the fact that I use Overcast for podcasts when I’m driving. It’s a much better app than Apple Podcasts in many ways.
