Dunno About You, But I Have No Interest in an Apple Folding Phone
Especially at $2,000+
Ming-Chi Kuo (éƒæ˜ŽéŒ¤ (Ming-Chi Kuo) says Apple will be introducing a $2,000 or more foldable iPhone in 2026 or 2027. Apparently, Apple or Samsung have licked the crease fold problem, at least to Apple’s desires. Ming-Chi Kuo thinks its unfolded size will be just under eight inches, though other rumors say bigger. He also thinks it won’t be able to do Face ID.
Okey-dokey. First off, I would not like giving up Face ID, so if that turns out to be true, I’d have a hard time adjusting. I wouldn’t have much use for a tiny iPad screen either, though a lot of that is because I’m retired and not running around New England for my work. I’m mostly at home with my big iPad, thank you.
The expected high price is a turn-off, though again, were I still bopping around New England roads, I would care less about that as I’d have much more money to spend, it would be a business expense, and it would be useful. Carrying an iPad and an iPhone is a bit annoying — I was never a briefcase person.
Most of all, I’d be worried about the creasing issue. Sure, it would be fine at first, or Apple wouldn’t have blessed it. But would it last or would creasing start to annoy me after a year or so? For that kind of…
