I Stopped Eating Almond Butter — Maybe You Should Too?
And perhaps take the same lesson to other foods
Food prices are going up.
That’s a pretty safe thing to say any old time, but right now all kinds of smart people are warning us that Trump’s tariffs are going to drive up prices of just about everything even when the specific item won’t have any tariff on it specifically. We, the common people, will have to find more money or cut expenses.
Trump and his rich pals might have to cut back on expenses too. Just kidding.
So anyway, while wishing our Congress had the cajones to stop this nonsense, but knowing they do not, I decided to look at some already pricey foods we buy and think about not eating them.
Almond butter was a big one. The wife and I go through a 16 ounce jar of Woodstock Unsalted Non-GMO Crunchy Dry Roasted Almond Butter in less than a week. We love it, but the cheapest I’ve found it is $10.99 a jar and I have seen it as high as $13.99.
I can buy a 40 ounce bag of Blue Diamond Almonds Whole Natural Raw Snack Nuts for $10.18 (not an affiliate link) delivered to my door with Amazon Subscribe and Save. That’s a LOT less expensive!
